Gulevskyy Sergiy, representative of the Fund in the Eastern region of Ukraine. Scientist, manager, media manager, journalist. Currently, Sergey works as the director of the Institute of Postgraduate and Correspondence (Distance) Education of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and is also the head of Region TV and Radio Company LLC.
Sergey began his media activities in 1991 – in different years he worked as a commentator, TV presenter, director, editor-in-chief in private television and radio companies in Kharkov. In particular, for more than 10 years he worked at the Simon TV and radio company (where he reached the position of chairman of the board, after which (in 2004) he created and headed the new Kharkiv TV channel R-1. In 2010, Sergey was appointed general director of the Kharkiv Regional State television and radio company, where within a short time he carried out a complete rebranding of this TV channel, turning it into the main information platform of the region.
In 2015, he moved to Kiev, where he worked as a media consultant and adviser to the editor-in-chief of the TV channel “Ukraine”, and was also responsible for communication of the News and Information Service of the TV channel with state authorities and local self-government of Ukraine. In 2018, Sergey returned from Kyiv to work in Kharkiv, where he headed the Region TV and Radio Company media holding.
In addition, since 2006, in parallel with the main work, Sergei has been teaching and researching. In particular, in different years, he lectured on television skills to students of the “Ukrmediapressinstitut” (Kyiv), students of the Kharkov State Academy of Culture and Kharkov National University named after V.N. Karazin.
Sergey graduated (in 1991) from the Kharkiv State University named after Gorky (today – Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin), where he received the qualification of a historian, teacher of history and social science.
In 2021, he defended a scientific dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Philosophical Sciences (specialty: philosophical anthropology, philosophy of culture; thesis topic: “Transformation of the sociocultural discourse of television series in the modern media space”, and is also the author of three scientific publications on the subject of philosophical understanding humanitarian issues in modern media Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine since 2004. In accordance with the Order of the Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council, in 2013 Serhiy was awarded the Honorary Distinction of the Kharkiv Regional Council “Slobozhanska Glory” – “For special merits in the development of the Kharkiv region and participation in the protection of state and regional interests”.
And in 2017, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, Sergey was awarded the honorary title “Honored Journalist of Ukraine”.
Almost from the first days after the start of a large-scale aggressive war of Russia against Ukraine, after the evacuation of his wife and daughter from Kharkov abroad, Sergey began to engage in volunteer activities.
