Good quality education helps children and teenagers reach their full potential; however, for millions of children and youth, it is beyond reach, and many are not learning basic skills like reading and math if they attend school.

Across the United States, one in five children grows up in poverty. Of the counties with the highest poverty rates, 90% are rural. Because of circumstances beyond their control, millions of kids never reach their full potential.
