Hoffman Homes is a community of employees gathered on one campus to help children understand and manage their mental health diagnosis.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Education, within the mental health field and/or experience working with children, is desired but not required.
• Strong desire to help an at-risk group of children.
• Requires the ability to stay active, make good decisions within a busy environment and maintain a calm demeanor while working with an emotional child.
• Requires strong ethics and accountability.
• Must be able to complete clear and legible documentation.

Duties

• Full Time 1st and 3rd shift MHWs start at $18.00/hr
• 3rd Shift receives $1.50 shift differential between the hours of 10:30 PM and 6:30 AM.
• 2nd Shift starts at $20.50/hr
• Part-Time MHWs start at $16/hr.
• Full-time MHWs are scheduled 4 days in a row and 4 days. Additional hours are scheduled as needed.
• The Mental Health Worker (MHW) is a direct-care / counselor position to children.
• Supervise the children in care and are responsible for their safety.
• Guide the children through their daily routines and activities while documenting events and observations specific to each child.
• Teach and model appropriate social skills and coping skills to the children.
• Provide support for children who may be experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression or struggling with anger management. The MHW is
• Responsible for communicating pertinent information to the child’s therapist so that treatment can be properly assessed.
