About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as a trusted senior advisor to the president. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering collaboration, enhancing communication, and advancing the president's vision and strategic initiatives. This role involves comprehensive preparation and support of the president, maintaining situational awareness, and proactively advising on a wide range of issues. The Chief of Staff will also be a key member of the president's executive cabinet, building and managing relationships across various constituencies, and ensuring the president is well-prepared for all engagements. The position is fast-moving and requires the ability to operate in shifting environments with agility and focus. Applicants for the Chief of Staff position at the company should have a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with significant experience in higher education administration, public policy, or within large, complex organizations. The role demands exceptional communication skills, the ability to identify and solve problems, and a strong commitment to maintaining collegial relationships. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, and possess strong emotional and analytical intelligence. Experience in public higher education, a broad understanding of university policies, and a solid grasp of budget preparation and fiscal management are preferred. The Chief of Staff must be adept at using new AI tools and be dedicated to the continuous improvement of processes.
