• Weekend Requirement: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1670 - $1790
  

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Level III NICU RN experience required
  
• Active DC Registered Nurse license (pending accepted with proof at submission; must be in hand by start date)
  
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
  
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
  
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
  
• Ability to float to Pediatric Transplant, Pediatric, and PICU units as needed
  
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts (days/nights may vary)
  
• Two supervisor references required
  
• First-time travel nurses accepted with required experience
  
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
  

NICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to neonates in a Level III/IV NICU environment
  
• Monitor and manage critically ill infants, including those requiring ventilator support, surgery, and advanced neonatal procedures
  
• Administer medications, blood products, and perform procedures such as central line care, high-frequency ventilation, and therapeutic hypothermia
  
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers
  
• Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay
  
• Float to related pediatric units as needed to provide clinical support
  
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
  
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety protocols
