We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Traffic Manager at our Tracy, CA location to help support our Flooring business. Did you know Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States? Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam-, rubber-, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. As a Traffic Manager, you will have the opportunity to direct and oversee transportation-related operations within the branch. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring our products are reaching customers with 100% customer satisfaction. The team you will be working with is personable and values the challenging work.
So, what will you be doing as a Traffic Manager?- Ensure that all employees adhere to State and Federal DOT and company safety policies
- Keep records, logs, and schedules of all the transportation vehicles and drivers that are monitored and controlled by the branch
- Coordinate the movement of all inbound/outbound equipment and freight from point of origin to destination
- Consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations
- Provide monthly branch reports as required
- Responsible for monthly inventory of finished goods.
- Responsible for the purchasing resale finished goods inventory.
- Hire, train, and monitor all aspects of personnel in the traffic department
- Maintain control of department expenses
- Responsible for ensuring driver’s quarterly meetings are completed.
- Complete Purchase Requisition for any expenditure.
- understand contracts and capital projects in the traffic, shipping, and receiving areas of responsibility.
- Work with vendors on equipment and personnel needs.
- Monitor all aspects of employee performance
To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need - At least 5 years of experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations
- Solid knowledge of State and Federal DOT regulations
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Geographical comprehension
- Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics
- Good conflict resolution skills
