Job Description

We’re Not Looking for Employees. We’re Looking for Builders.

Level Agency is hiring a results-obsessed, AI-fluent SEO Manager —someone who can turn algorithms, analytics, and AI into measurable organic growth. You’ll own strategies from concept to execution, make data sing, and help clients see SEO as a true business driver.

You’re not here to maintain rankings—you’re here to grow them.

This Isn’t for Everyone.

We’re building something rare: a place where growth, truth, and high performance go hand-in-hand.

You’ll thrive here if:

✅ You get excited about turning SEO challenges into competitive advantages.
✅ You know your way around both AI-powered tools and traditional SEO platforms.
✅ You’re comfortable collaborating across media, creative, and development teams.

And you’ll struggle here if:

❌ You don’t stay current with search algorithm updates and industry trends.
❌ You shy away from client conversations.
❌ You treat SEO like a checklist instead of a dynamic, evolving strategy.

About Level

We’re an AI-powered performance marketing agency—built for precision, designed to scale, and powered by a scientific mindset. At Level, we blend strategy, media, creative, and machine intelligence to deliver outcomes that matter. Every time. At scale.

We’ve been named one of Pittsburgh’s Best Places to Work and an Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Company. Our clients range from ecommerce to B2B, education, healthcare, and beyond.

Your Role (and Impact)

As SEO Manager, you’ll be the strategist and operator behind our clients’ organic growth. You’ll design and implement tailored SEO strategies—combining on-page, off-page, and technical expertise with AI insights—to deliver better rankings, stronger traffic, and measurable ROI. You’ll balance independent execution with collaborative teamwork, ensuring SEO integrates seamlessly with broader marketing efforts.

You’ll:

  • Own the Strategy: Conduct keyword research, technical audits, and competitive analysis to create data-driven SEO roadmaps.
  • Leverage AI: Use AI tools to identify trends, optimize content, and accelerate execution.
  • Stay Ahead: Monitor industry shifts and algorithm updates to keep strategies competitive.
  • Collaborate Deeply: Partner with creative, development, and media teams to implement SEO recommendations.
  • Measure Relentlessly: Track, analyze, and report performance with actionable insights.
  • Educate & Inspire: Explain SEO strategies and results to clients in a way that builds trust and understanding.
  • Innovate: Spot opportunities to expand scope, improve efficiency, and drive better results.

Requirements

Must-Have Experience

  • 2+ years of SEO experience in an agency or digital marketing environment.
  • Proven success with on-page, off-page, and technical SEO strategies.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., Semrush, Google Analytics, Search Console, Screaming Frog).
  • Strong communication skills—able to translate SEO insights into client-friendly language.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, content, and development teams.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Hubspot, or Shopify.
  • AI-native mindset—actively using tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or others to improve workflows.
  • Strategic thinking with a clear understanding of how SEO supports broader business goals.

Preferred Experience

  • 4+ years of combined education or experience in marketing or a related field.
  • Agency experience with both B2B and B2C clients.
  • Workflow and process optimization expertise.

Real AI & Innovation Expectations

At Level, AI is a core skillset. In this role, you’ll:

  • Share examples of how you’ve used AI to improve SEO research, strategy, or execution.
  • Document and share prompts, workflows, and insights so the whole team grows together.
  • Experiment, test, and refine AI applications—always improving.
  • Use AI to enhance creativity, speed, and precision, not as a shortcut for thinking.

Our Core Values

  • No Ego, All In
    • We don’t do “that’s not my job.” We win together.
  • Better Every Day
    • We want the feedback—even when it stings.
  • Relentless for Results
    • Activity is nothing without outcomes.
  • Driven by Truth
    • We challenge assumptions and follow the data.

Benefits

Compensation & Perks:

  • $65,000–$95,000 depending on your level and experience
  • Remote work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Unlimited PTO to rest, recharge, and do your best work
  • 12 weeks of Paid Parental Leave
  • 8 weeks of Paid Family Leave
  • 12 Paid Holidays with 2 Additional Floating Holidays
  • Summer Fridays (because high performance includes balance)
  • Competitive Medical Plan Options tailored to your needs
  • 100% Employer-Paid Vision & Dental Insurance
  • Pet Insurance for your furry (or feathery) coworkers
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with 3% Employer Contribution – 100% Vested
  • Performance Reviews Every 6 Months—we don’t believe in waiting a year to grow
  • Career Advancement Opportunities mapped to clear outcomes
  • Medical Travel Reimbursement
  • $100 Monthly WFH Stipend for phone, internet, and electricity (paid quarterly)
  • In-Person and Virtual Company Events—connection matters
  • Peer-to-Peer Recognition Programs
  • Concierge Support Services for personal scheduling and productivity help
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with access to mental health, legal, and financial counseling

Remote-First, U.S. Only
This is a remote role open to candidates located within the U.S. We are unable to sponsor visas at this time.

We prohibit discrimination and harassment of any kind and celebrate what makes you, you—regardless of race, gender identity, age, disability status, sexual orientation, or background.

Ready to Apply?
Click below and submit your resume. You’ll be asked a few thoughtful questions—take your time. We care more about your thinking than your pedigree.

Let’s build something together.
