As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Salem, OR , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will be a key presence in a retail and mall environment, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. Your responsibilities include conducting regular patrols throughout the location, staying visible to promote a sense of order, and providing outstanding customer service through clear communication and a caring approach. You will play an important role in creating a positive experience for everyone on site while upholding the Allied Universal values of reliability, innovation, and teamwork. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to guests, visitors, and employees at the retail or mall location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a welcoming environment.
  • Observe and report activities and incidents, completing detailed reports as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Assist with access control, verifying credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as directed by site procedures.
  • Provide support during emergency situations, such as evacuations or medical incidents, by following established procedures and coordinating with emergency responders as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with guests, staff, and management to address inquiries, provide directions, and offer assistance as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
