We are seeking a PT Events Assistant to join our team! You will be responsible for assisting in organizing events, completing assigned tasks, and making sure events are successful by handling any last-minute issues and requests, being present for client and client's guests, and other duties within the Hospitality Department, which includes "The Space @ St. David's" and "Cafe Divine."

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate event activities and personnel
• Help train and supervise volunteers
• Perform Front of House (FOH) activities including run register, set up and take down
• Maintain stock of event supplies
• Assist Director of Events and Head Chef as required or needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in event planning or other related fields
• Strong project management skills
• Strong people skills
• Friendly and detail-oriented
• Desire to assist clients in having the best, most successful event possible
• Ability to work well as a team and independently
• Able to handle large events (SXSW, AFF, Concerts) ensure client, artists, and church needs are all met

Weekly Timeline of Work:

• Thursday Lunch and Deli Days: 9:30am-2:00pm: Help with the initial Front of House set up for lunch and run the register during lunch service. Help with tear-down once lunch has concluded (4.5 hours)
• Candlelight Shows 5:00pm-10:30pm on occasional Thursdays and/or Fridays. 
  • Note : This event doesn’t occur every Thursday or Friday but does occur 2-3 times per month (5.5 hours)
• Other Events held at St. David's as needed, see below.

Average Weekly hours based on above = 10-12+ hours per week (varies)​​​​​​

Other Non-Weekly Events hosted at St. David's Episcopal Church:

• Funerals (2-4 days' notice, 5-8 per year)
• Austin Film Festival
• Texas Tribune Festival
• SXSW Music Concerts
• World Music Encounter Concerts, Sunday evenings (occur 5 times Sept-May)
• All-Parish Church Events

Certifications Needed (May be obtained within 30 days of hire)

• TABC Certification
• Food Handler License
