Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our apartment maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and integrity of apartment units, hallways, and common areas through high-quality painting and finishing work. This is a hands-on position that plays a key role in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting (e.g., sanding, scraping, patching holes, caulking cracks).
- Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to apartment interiors, exteriors, and common areas.
- Paint vacant units quickly and efficiently to meet turnover deadlines.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Conduct minor drywall repairs and touch-ups as needed.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff on apartment make-ready tasks.
- Track materials used and notified supervisor of low inventory.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and consistency.
- Respond to painting-related service requests from tenants.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in residential or commercial painting.
- Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and tools.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks on schedule.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or scaffolding.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in multi-family housing or property maintenance.
- Basic drywall repair and finishing skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
