Job Description OVERHEAD CRANE OPERTOR Automation Personnel Services is looking for an
Overhead Crane Operator for a company based in Memphis, TN. This company is currently seeking an experienced Crane Operator for their Memphis location. Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy steel coils, tubes and materials safely across the production floor. You'll ensure smooth workflow in our fast-paced steel mill while prioritizing zero-incident operations.
Pay Rate $18.00 - $24.00 (depending on experience)
Schedule and Hours 3 Shifts:
First: 7:00 am - 3:30 p.m.
Second: 3:00 pm - 11:00 p.m.
Third: 11:00 pm - 7 :00 am
Overhead Crane Operator Duties and Responsibilities - Inspect Cranes, rigging, and loads daily for safety and functionality.
- Maneuver loads precisely to loading docks, production lines, or storage up to 50 tons.
- Coordinate with riggers, welders, and team leads via radio for clear signals.
- Follow all OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and our in-house safety protocols.
- Maintain equipment logs, report issues, and perform basic upkeep like greasing cables.
- Help with inventory counts.
Overhead Crane Operator Qua lifications and Requirements - High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid NCCCO or equivalent crane certification; at least two years in steel or manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, sharp eyesight, and steady hands for high-reach ops.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, in a noisy, hot environment.
- Reliable team player who thrives under pressure.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working overtime as needed.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
Job Type Full-time, temporary to hire
