We're seeking an experienced Large Motor Mechanic (First Class) to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. In this role, you'll work hands-on with industrial rotating machinery, performing precision repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance on large motors, pumps, and generators. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled professional who takes pride in quality workmanship and values working in a clean, air-conditioned facility.

Position Offers

• Up to $42/hr depending on experience + overtime opportunities. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions

Job Duties

• Disassemble and reassemble motors, pumps, and generators up to 12,000 HP (13.2kV)
• Troubleshoot and repair oil leaks, vibration issues, and other mechanical problems
• Perform test runs on rebuilt motors to ensure performance and reliability
• Complete various mechanical repair and maintenance tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with motor, pump, and generator disassembly, troubleshooting, and reassembly
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Must have personal tools (testing equipment provided)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work overtime as required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
