Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Academic Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of curriculum requirements. You will be responsible for supporting high school students in Math, tailoring your approach to meet individual learning needs.
Responsibilities:
· Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring sessions for students based on their grade level and needs.
· Deliver personalized lesson plans aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
· Assist students with homework and test preparation.
· Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to parents.
· Create a positive, encouraging learning environment to build students’ confidence and motivation.
· Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
· Stay informed on curriculum changes and best practices in education.
Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of subject matter in Math (Algebra, Calculus, Advance functions, Functions, Data management)
· Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Patient, approachable, and passionate about helping students succeed.
· Familiarity with the Ontario Curriculum and assessment standards.
Education:
· A degree or enrollment in a program in Education, Math, Science, or a related field is preferred.
· Equivalent experience in tutoring or teaching may be considered.
