A prestigious and well-established private law firm in Northwest Arkansas is seeking a Criminal Defense Associate Attorney to join its team full-time. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for a skilled defense attorney who is passionate about protecting client rights, building strong defense strategies, and delivering exceptional legal representation across a diverse range of criminal matters.

Hours & Pay

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Salary: $75,000-$100,000+ annually, based on experience
• Employment Type: Direct Hire

What You'll Do

• Represent clients in criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies
• Manage a full caseload, including client meetings and witness interviews
• Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials
• Conduct legal research and analyze criminal case law
• Draft and file motions, briefs, petitions, appeals, waivers, and related legal documents
• Advise clients on their rights, legal options, and case status throughout the process
• Develop and execute effective defense strategies to achieve favorable outcomes
• Negotiate plea agreements and settlements with prosecutors
• Stay current on changes in criminal law, regulations, and legal trends
• Maintain accurate, organized case files and ensure compliance with deadlines
• Protect client confidentiality and foster long-term client relationships
• Meet with prospective clients and contribute to business development

What You'll Bring

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• An active Arkansas attorney license and good standing are preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing criminal defense law
• Strong negotiation, litigation, and courtroom skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team
