Overview

Clinical Assistant - Plastics and Oral Surgery role at Boston Children's Hospital. Our department is one of the largest and most experienced pediatric plastic and oral surgery centers, with 10 dedicated subspecialty programs. Each year we care for more than 17,000 children with congenital and acquired conditions from across Massachusetts, New England, and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to Plastic & Oral Surgery clinics, located in Boston and Waltham.
• Interact with patients and families, seating and forming positive relationships.
• Collect, verify, and record required patient information according to established procedures and protocols.
• Collect, measure, and record basic patient data (height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, oxygen saturation).
• Identify and report findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, and/or Physician.
• Prepare procedural paperwork and post-operative care items for office procedures.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms for scheduled procedures in accordance with proper sterilization techniques.
• Conduct and record daily and monthly checks (e.g., room temperature, refrigerator temperature, camera calibration, urine HCG).
• Assist clinicians during assessments, examinations, and/or procedures.
• Transport patients, supplies, pathology, and equipment as needed.
• Maintain, clean, and stock clinical supplies and/or equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year of clinical/direct patient care experience preferred; pediatric experience preferred.
