Box Truck Driver & Appliance Installer

Company: KateRichard Logistics
Location: Bessemer, AL (primary departure/return location)
Schedule: Full-Time | Arrival Time 5:00 AM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and professional Box Truck Driver with Appliance Installation Experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of box truck driving experience and a proven track record of installing major household appliances. This position requires punctuality, strength, professionalism, and a strong focus on customer service.

This contract will be based on departure and return in Bessemer, Alabama. However, we will also be considering applicants for other upcoming driving and logistics opportunities across our service areas.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company box trucks for daily delivery and appliance installation.
• Load and secure appliances in the truck to prevent damage in transit.
• Deliver and install the following appliances in customer homes:
• Washers & Dryers
• Ranges (including Natural Gas; certification not required in Alabama)
• Refrigerators & Freezers
• Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining professionalism in all customer interactions.
• Identify and report installation exceptions
• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the truck, tools, and uniforms.
• Follow all company policies, DOT regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Complete delivery logs, installation forms, and paperwork with accuracy.

• Arrive on time, prepared, and in proper uniform.
• Maintain business casual dress code (no jeans).
• Company shirt provided once; additional shirts must be purchased.
• Black, hard-toe safety shoes required.
• Demonstrate customer etiquette : knock before entering, introduce yourself, and confirm installation details before starting work.
• Respect customers’ homes by keeping workspaces clean and using protective coverings when necessary.
• No smoking in trucks or on customer premises. Drivers must also avoid carrying smoke, strong food odors, or other scents into customer homes, as many residents may have health sensitivities.
• Represent the company with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity at all times.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of box truck driving experience (26 ft. preferred).
• Must have appliance installation experience.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy appliances without strain.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs, reckless driving, or other disqualifying violations).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with routine/random drug screenings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional in conduct and appearance.
• Ability to work in varied environments (homes, apartments, warehouses).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with logistics, route planning, or delivery service.
• Familiarity with moving equipment (dollies, straps, protective padding).
• Strong problem-solving skills when encountering installation challenges.
