RALCO Electric, Inc., a well established electrical contracting company with over 35 years of experience, is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper with previous experience in Sage 300 Construction. We are in the process of migrating to Sage Intacct. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling full-cycle accounting tasks including billing, AR, collections, job costing, compliance filings and financial reporting with accuracy and efficiency, using Sage 300 while training on Sage Intacct to support project and operational needs. This role will work closely with internal teams, management, and external partners, and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Job Purpose:

This candidate will be responsible for the entire Accounting functions including billing, cash application, aging’s, collections and filing of liens when needed for a construction company. Liaison between accounting department and other departments to help facilitate problem solving and support as needed. Will work as a professional team member with management, customers, accounta nts, business associates, supervisors, co-workers and tradesmen. This position reports directly to the company Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sage 300 Accounting Operations

• Use Sage 300 CRE and Sage Intacct in the future to manage general ledger, job cost modules, and subledger transactions.
  


• Enter and code accounts payable invoices, ensuring correct job and cost code allocations.
  


• Reconcile bank statements, and vendor accounts within Sage


• Oversee AP personal

2. Job Costing & Project Support

• Track and allocate direct labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to jobs in Sage 300 Job Cost module.
  


• Work with project managers to monitor job budgets and performance.
  


• Prepare WIP reports and project financial summaries using Sage 300 tools.
  

3. Payroll Processing

• Assist Payroll Person in the submitting of Payroll Tax reports
  

4. Billing & Receivable

• Prepare and issue AIA progress billings or time & material invoices via Sage 300 Billing module and in the future Sage Intacct.
  


• Track AR aging, post customer payments, and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  


• Ensure lien waivers and other compliance documents are up to date.
  

5. Reporting & Month-End Close

• Generate financial and project reports in Accounting Software (e.g., GL reports, job cost, trial balance).
  


• Assist with month-end close activities, journal entries, and reconciliation.
  

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in construction
  


• Proficiency in Sage 300 CRE (Job Cost, AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger modules) Willingness to be training in Sage Intacct
  


• Understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction billing formats (AIA)
  


• Strong Excel skills for reporting and data analysis
  


• Knowledge of compliance requirements including sales tax, certified payroll, and 1099s

Preferred Skills

• Experience in an electrical contracting environment
  


• Familiarity with project management tools integrated with Accounting Software (e.g., Procore, Textura)
  


• Understanding of retainage, change orders, and subcontract management
  


• Notary is preferred, but not required
