The Opportunity

Lesley University's Department of Humanities is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: CSOCS 3452, Yoga: Theory, Culture and Practice. Tuesday 6:45-9:15. Fully in-person, on-campus.

Course Description:

This course explores a non-Western approach to mind/body studies from an interdisciplinary perspective. Drawing on psychology, anthropology, Eastern philosophy, religious studies, and health, students gain insight into the rich history and multifaceted practice of yoga in India over thousands of years. In the practice component, students integrate their learning and apply yoga techniques to elements of their own lives.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Master's degree with experience in teaching yoga theory and in the physical practice of yoga

  • Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level

  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
