Warehouse Forklift Operator (Entry-Level)

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Warehouse Forklift Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate stand‑up reach forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, store, and stage products throughout the warehouse and loading areas. This position plays a key role in keeping operations running efficiently and safely.

What You’ll Do

• Pick, move, and stage product in dry goods and refrigerated warehouse areas

• Accurately complete pick tickets and record product details such as labels, lot codes, and locations

• Place finished goods into proper rack locations or blast cells

• Build pallets using correct stacking and pallet patterns

• Stage completed orders and load trailers for shipment

• Rotate stock, unload inbound trailers, and transfer finished goods into inventory

• Pick and transfer product to and from racking for project rooms

• Perform inventory counts, consolidation, and product organization as needed

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs

• Follow all safety, security, and quality standards

• Participate in employee committees when assigned

Equipment Used

• Stand‑up reach forklift

• Pallet jack

• Electric hand truck

• Additional material handling equipment as needed

Required Qualifications

• Forklift certification

• Ability to obtain a valid Class C license within 6 months of hire (up to three attempts allowed)

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

• Strong attention to safety and detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Clean driving record

• One year of warehouse or material‑handling experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment

• Basic mechanical aptitude

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
